Carter Pinholster is a singer-songwriter from Fort Payne, Alabama. Four years ago, he left his hometown on a full-ride scholarship to play Division I football in Georgia. But despite the opportunity, something never quite felt right. Music had always been a part of his life, and deep down, he knew his true passion was to become a country artist.

Two years ago, Carter made the bold decision to walk away from football and return home when he got the chance to audition for American Idol.
