Canyonland
Canyonland Band is a Country and Rock band formed in Fort Payne, Alabama, in 2014 by musicians Chris Roberts and Stan Dailey.
The band’s name pays tribute to the founding members’ musical roots. In the early l980s, Chris and Stan performed at Canyonland Amusement Park on Lookout Mountain, shortly before the park dosed. Years later, the name was revived as a tribute to those early days and the musical journey that followed.
The original Canyonland lineup consisted of Chris Roberts, Stan Dailey, Alan Adkins, Marko Scott, and Caleb Roberts. The band quickly established itself as a versatile live act, performing as an opening act for artists including Exile and Gwen Sebastian, while also playing for performers such as T. Graham Brown and Jamey Johnson.
Canyonland also developed a close musical relationship with Jeff and Lisa Cook, performing at events held at The Castle on Lookout Mountain. Throughout the years, the band remained connected to its roots by returning to perform at numerous church homecomings and community events.
In 2022, the band experienced a devastating loss with the untimely passing of Alan Adkins in
October. Following his death, Canyonland took a three-year hiatus.
In 2025, Canyonland returned to the stage, beginning a new chapter with performances at Mater’s Pizza and Pasta Emporium in Fort Payne, owned by Chris Roberts and his wife, Donna. The remaining members made the decision to continue as a four-piece band rather than replace Alan.
Today, Canyonland continues to bring together decades of musical experience, performing a blend of Country, Rock, and original music. Each member is an accomplished performer and songwriter, and the band incorporates many of its original compositions into its live shows.
